Women with Horsepower VIP Lunch Event | Rivermead

Women with Horsepower VIP Lunch Event

By: | February 27th, 2020

On a steamy summer’s day in early January, Rivermead Estate was
abuzz with activity.

Forty influential women from business, racing and media
were set to descend on the property for the exclusive Women
with Horsepower lunch event, powered by The Star Gold Coast MagicMillions
and the carnival’s official vehicle sponsor, Frizelle Sunshine Automotive.

Considered to be one of Australia’s leading Yearling Sales
Auctions and ranking in the top ten richest race meetings in the world, The
Star Gold Coast Magic Millions attracts attention from across the globe with
over $11 million dollars in total prize money on offer.

In 2020, the glamorous Magic Millions was hosted by carnival
ambassadors Abbey Way and Jett Kenny, who showcased the non-stop festivities
from the iconic Barrier Draw on Surfers Paradise beach, to the sparkling
Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo and the official The Star Gold Coast Magic
Millions Raceday.

For the first time in Magic Millions’ star-studded history, forty of the carnival’s
most influential women including Harvey Norman CEO and Magic Millions co-owner
Katie Page, The Star Gold Coast COO, Jess Mellor and racing royalty, Elaine
Lawlor were chaperoned from the Gold Coast strip to the majestic rural
surrounds of Rivermead Estate for the inaugural Women with Horsepower
lunch event – a momentous occasion pioneered Rebecca Frizelle, Chief Operating
Officer of Frizelle Sunshine Prestige and co-owner of the Gold Coast Titans NRL
team.

Arriving with an impressive convoy of Ferraris, McLarens, Aston
Martins, Audis and Range Rovers, guests of the Women with Horsepower lunch were
invited to get behind the wheel of Frizelle’s prestige vehicle collection as
they journeyed from The Darling in Broadbeach to the doorstep of Rivermead
Estate in the Gold Coast’s Lower Hinterland suburb of Guanaba.

Upon arrival, the ladies were greeted by Rivermead’s dedicated
valet before being ushered to the sprawling estate pool for vibrant mocktails
and live acoustic music with vocals by the ethereal Brit Grey.

In the kitchen, acclaimed Executive Sous Chef, Sarah Jewell and
Chef De Cuisine, Carolyne Helmy of The Star Gold Coast were preparing a
four-course menu fit for a queen. The delectable menu featured dishes such as a
Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, Rangers Valley Tenderloin and a delicious Calrhona Jivara
Cremeux to finish.

The exquisite lunch was served on Rivermead’s north-facing verandah with the
rolling greens of the property’s Polo Field providing the perfect backdrop for
the event

As the mocktails and meals continued, guests were treated to a
special panel of guest speakers, hosted by Abbey Way, including
legendary women in racing Elaine Lawlor, Katelyn Mallyon, Emily Bosson and
Lizzie Jeffs.

Leading the charge for women in racing, Elaine Lawlor shared her
story of success with All About the Girls Racing,
a femme driven thoroughbred racing syndicate which saw Lawlor and a posse of
her female friends take home a win of $3.11 million after purchasing
filly Global Glamour for $65,000 at the 2015 Magic
Millions yearling auction.

The Magic Millions Racing Women bonuses are the only incentive
anywhere in the world specifically encouraging women to get involved and all
guest speakers agreed that it had certainly sparked great excitement within the
racing community.

As the sun started to fade behind the Gold Coast Hinterland, the
formalities drew to a close. Guests were invited to explore the majesty of the
Rivermead Homestead with its three floors of accommodation, dining and living
spaces, luring the ladies for a last minute photo opportunity before returning
home in their supercharged cars to create even more Magic Millions memories.
