Half a century - it is certainly a milestone worthy of a grand
Rivermead Estate was honoured to host the 50th birthday
soiree for David in July 2020. The special event brought together guests from
across Queensland to celebrate the momentous occasion.
Set against a backdrop of sparkling blue skies and the sprawling
green polo fields, 40 of David’s dearest friends and family were welcomed to Rivermead
Estate in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
Festivities began poolside, where an impressive six-metre floating
tribute - created by The Perfect Party Co - adorned the resort-style
pool. The custom-made lettering featured all of the nicknames that David is
known by: Dave, Goffo, DG, Mr Golf, Davey – a fun and personal touch, paying homage to
the birthday boy himself.
Here, guests were greeted with Bollinger Champagne and canapés of freshly shucked oysters, Mooloolaba seared tuna, Duck Tsukume and Yakitori artfully prepared by Dalton Catering & Events.
David was spotted basking in the extraordinary surrounds and
heartfelt company with plenty of raucous laughter. The crowd relished in the

Rivermead’s expansive north-facing verandah where an elegant long table lunch
awaited. Beautiful styled in pearly whites and baby blues with a dramatic pop
of orange florals, the luxury event aficionados at Table for Louis brought together the most sophisticated
Owner and lead stylist for Table for Louis, Judy Goffman said that the styling brief was soft masculine tones and urban chairs to add a modern touch but still complement the home – the perfect accompaniment to
the venue. She pored over every decorative detail, including custom printed menus and personally embroidered slippers, for the
ladies to really let their hair down.
In the kitchen, acclaimed Chef, Jeremy
Dalton from Dalton Catering & Events was busy preparing a feast! The
mouth-watering menu featured dishes such as freshly shucked Pacific Oysters
with Kombucha vinegar, Dry Aged Wagyu with duck fat fries; blanched greens with
harissa labnah and Ora King Salon with salmon belly croquets and roasted confit
After lunch, the affable party moved downstairs to
Rivermead Estate’s Billiard Room where a Gin and Whiskey Bar was set up. Opening up all the doors to allow for flow and that beautiful afternoon Queensland breeze which created a relaxed vibe for friends and family, young and old, to savour the festivities until sundown. It was the perfect ending to a truly magical
day, infused with warmth, love and connection.
